- DCT-W01-1 FULL CAVITY MASONRY WALL (PIR)A double brick wall insulated with a thermoset rigid and reflective PIR insulation board installed on the outer face of the in inner leaf of masonry, held in place by brick ties to maintain a cavity.DCT-W01-2 FULL CAVITY MASONRY WALL (XPS)A double brick wall insulated with a highly moisture resistant rigid XPS insulation board installed on the outer face of the in inner leaf of masonry, held in place by brick ties to maintain a cavity.DCT-W01-3 FULL CAVITY MASONRY WALL (VULCANWOOL)A double brick wall insulated with a non-combustible DCT Vulcanwool stone mineral fibre rigid insulation installed on the outer face of the in inner leaf of masonry, held in place by brick ties to maintain a cavity.DCT-W06-1 INTERNALLY INSULATED MASONRY WALL (PIR)An exposed single skin masonry wall such as a concrete tilt slab internally insulated with a foil faced rigid thermoset PIR insulation. The insulation is mechanically fixed directly to the interior face of the masonry, with minimal thermal bridging, and must be taped and sealed to form a continuous air and vapour barrier preventing internal moisture vapour from condensing on masonry at below dew point temperature. This solution is often used as a compromise where external insulation is not an option. As the PIR insulation is deemed combustible, this solution can only ever be used in type A or B construction is approved as part of a fire engineered performance solution.DCT-W06-2 INTERNALLY INSULATED MASONRY WALL (VACUUM INSULATION PANEL)An exposed single skin masonry wall such as a concrete tilt slab internally insulated with a DCT va-Q-vip vacuum insulated panel. The insulation much be fixed strictly in accordance with the install instructions so as not the damage or puncture the vacuum insulation. The ProctorGeo HC8-2G provides for protection of insulation from sharp surfaces or chemical reaction from the masonry wall. ProctorPassive SmartVap must be taped and sealed to form a continuous air and vapour barrier to the interior of the insulation preventing internal moisture vapour from condensing on the masonry at or below dew point temperature. This solution is often used as a compromise where external insulation is not an option. As the DCT va-Q-vip is deemed combustible, this solution can only ever be used in type A or B construction where approved as part of a fire engineered performance solution.DCT-W06-3 INTERNALLY INSULATED NON-COMBUSTIBLE MASONRY WALL WITH DRAINED CAVITY AND SMARTVAP INTERNAL AIR AND VAPOUR CONTROL LAYERAn exposed single skin masonry wall such as a concrete tilt slab internally insulated with non-combustible DCT VulcanWool stonewool insulation separated from the masonry by a drained and/or ventilated cavity. The ProctorPassive SmartVap must be taped and sealed to form a continuous air and vapour control layer to reduce internal moisture vapour from reaching and condensing on the masonry. This solution is a rarely used compromise where external insulation is not an option. This solution is a high risk strategy that relies on the perfect installation of the internal control layer and the effectiveness of the drainage cavity. Continuous mechanical ventilation to manage indoor moisture loads will be required in most climates. An independent hygrothermal calculation in accordance with AIRAH DA07 must prove suitability.DCT-W07-1 EXTERNALLY INSULATED RAINSCREEN MASONRY WALL (PIR)A single skin masonry wall externally insulated with a foil faced rigid thermoset PIR insulation protected by a rainscreen cladding supported by the Nvelope engineered helping hand sub framing system. The insulation is mechanically fixed directly to the exterior face of the masonry, with minimal thermal bridging, and must be taped and sealed to form a continuous air, vapour and water control layer. As the PIR insulation is deemed combustible, this solution is never recommended for type A or B non-combustible wall construction.DCT-W07-2 EXTERNALLY INSULATED RAINSCREEN MASONRY WALL (DCT VULCANWOOL)A single skin masonry wall externally insulated with a non-combustible DCT VulcanWool insulation, protected by a rainscreen cladding supported by the Nvelope engineered helping hand sub-framing system. The insulation is mechanically fixed directly to the exterior face of the masonry with minimal thermal bridging, to form a continuous insulation layer. As the stonewool insulation is deemed non-combustible per AS 1530.1, this solution is recommended for type A or B non-combustible wall construction.DCT-W07-4 EXTERNALLY INSULATED MASONRY WALL (DCT VulcanWool & ProctorPassive Wraptite)Masonry wall made water and airtight by the self-adhered vapour permeable ProctorPassive Wraptite SA, externally insulated with a non-combustible Vulcanwool mineral fibre insulation, protected by a rainscreen cladding supported by the Nvelope engineered helping hand sub-framing system. The insulation is mechanically fixed to the masonry structure with minimal thermal bridging, to form a continuous external insulation layer. As the Vulcanwool insulation is deemed non-combustible, this solution is recommended for type A or B non-combustible wall construction.
