Tuff-R

Details

Featuring the highest thermal insulation value of any foam sheathing currently available, Tuff-R™ distributed by DCTech is a closed cell polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam core sandwiched between two durable, aluminium foil exterior facers. The first is a continuous sheet of aluminium foil, the other is aluminium foil-Kraft paper-aluminium foil. Air cannot penetrate the facers, which also minimises water and water vapour intrusion into the polyisocyanurate foam insulation core, and allows the foam R-value to stabilise at a higher value. Tuff-R™ thermal insulation can be easily applied to a variety of substrates.

Tuff-R™ thermal insulation is a rigid board, manufactured with a HFC blowing agent, which has zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) than standard CFC/HCFC blowing agents and is Green Star Compliant.

Applications

  • Car park soffits, concrete roofs
  • Tuff-R is not compliant in exposed applications where AS ISO 9705 determined group classification is required.  Examples are where required by Melbourne Fire Brigade or buildings approved under the NCC 2015.
  • Double brick wall, cavity wall, double cavity precast wall, masonry wall external
  • Underside of slab

Features

  • High R-Value enhances thermal efficiency
  • Facers help reduce are penetration and water vapour intrusion
  • Compatible with most exterior siding treatments
  • Easy to handle, cut and install
  • 15 Year limited thermal warranty

Standards

  • Green Star Compliant
  • CFC and HCFC Free
  • Zero ODP
  • LEED
  • USGBC

Thermax Light Duty

Details

Thermax Light Duty™ thermal insulation sheathing  distributed by DCTech is a non structural, rigid board consisting of a glass fibre reinforced Polyisocyanurate(PIR) thermoset foam core laminated between smooth, reflective aluminium foil facers on both sides.

Thermax Light Duty™ has a glassfibre reinforced PIRthermoset foam core, along with chemical modifications, contribute to improved fire performance and dimensional stability. The Thermax Light Duty™ PIR foam core will not melt, flow or drip when exposed to fire, instead it will form a strong char that prevents flame spread and further degradation to the core, unlike EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) which will spread the flame due to oxygen being held between the cells within the panel. The EPS cells are also a thermoplastic, which tend to melt and shrink under intense heat.

Thermax Light Duty™ PIR thermal insulation has bonded aluminium foil facers which serve as effective moisture vapour retarders. Thermax Light Duty™ PIR thermal insulation can be installed exposed to the interior without a thermal barrier which offers a high insulating value.

Applications

  • Thermax Light Duty™ PIR is designed as a thermal insulation and interior finish system for walls and ceilings in metal, wood post frame, and concrete or masonry buildings

Features

  • Durable white acrylic-coated aluminum on one side, embossed aluminium on the other for light-impact areas
  • It can be pressured-washed up to 6,894.7 kPa with a 15-degree or greater spray tip

Standards

  • Thermax Light Duty™ PIR thermal insulation is manufactured with a zero ozone depleting potential. The use of Thermax Light Duty PIR thermal insulation helps reduce the carbon footprint of commercial buildings.

Specification clause – Soffit

Dow Thermax Light Duty Soffit Board should be described in specifications as:–

The soffit insulation supplied by Dynamic Composite Technologies shall be modified PIR (Polyisocynurate) Dow Thermax Light Duty Soffit Board ___mm thick CFC/HCFC–free, rigid modified PIR thermoset insulation core with autohesively bonded 35 μ embossed pure foil facings on both sides, conforming to AS fire tests, AS1530–3, AS3837 Group Classification 1, AS ISO 9705: 2003 Group 1 ceiling only, Group 2 walls and ceilings, FM 4880, manufactured to the highest standards under quality

Thermax Heavy Duty

Details

Thermax Heavy Duty™ thermal insulation distributed by DCTech has a glass-fibre reinforced polyisocyanurate (PIR) thermoset foam core faced with 4.0 mil embossed white acrylic-coated aluminium on one side and 1.25 mil embossed aluminum on the other side. The surfaces makes it a durable choice for use in moderate-impact areas.

Thermax Heavy Duty™ PIR thermal insulation can be installed exposed to the interior without a thermal barrier and can be pressure washed up to 2,000 psi with a 15-degree or greater spray tip. Thermax Heavy Duty™ PIR rigid sheathing is designed as an thermal insulation and interior finish system for walls in metal, wood post frame and concrete or masonry buildings.

Thermax Heavy Duty™ PIR thermal insulation offers high, long-term R-Values. The aluminium facers help prevent water and water vapour intrusion into the PIR insulation foam core, and allow the foam to stabilise at a higher R-Value. Used in conjunction with the appropriate joint closure system for the application, Thermax Heavy Duty™ PIR thermal insulation with its low perm rating helps to reduce moisture condensation within and behind the insulation.

Applications

  • High-impact interior finish system for walls in metal, wood post frame, and concrete or masonry buildings

Features

  • Low perm rating helps to reduce moisture condensation within and behind the insulation
  • Thermax Heavy Duty™ PIR thermal insulation can be installed exposed to the interior without a thermal barrier
