RESIDENTIAL METAL ROOF WITH CATHEDRAL CEILING BELOW RAFTERS (SMARTVAP)
Residential timber structure metal roof with a cathedral ceiling below the rafters. The SmartVap intelligent air barrier membrane at the ceiling forms a continuous air and vapour control layer with further ceiling insulation added above. The vapour permeable sarking, separated from the roof sheet by a drainage batten provides drainage of any moisture or condensate forming below the roof sheet. Suitable for ventilated and unventilated roofs.

ProctorPassive Drainage Batten (DB-FR) is a high compressive strength non-structural drainage batten for roof and wall applications constructed from a polyolefin extrusion.
Where required to provide drainage, air movement or separation between the roof sheet / wall cladding and the sarking, ProctorPassive DB-FR [Select 10.5mm / 21mm] shall be installed in accordance with the product user guide. Compressive Strength: >500kPa; Spread of flame index (AS1530.3): ≤ 9; Smoke-Developed Index (AS1530.3) : ≤ 8
Roof sarking / wall wrap shall be [ProctorWrap HTS/ ProctorWrap HTS-IT (with integrated tape)] vapour permeable sarking membrane, compliant to AS/NZS 4200.1:2017, secured directly to the outside of the roof/wall framing in accordance with the product user guide. AS/NZS 4200.1:2017 Classifications: Medium Duty; Water Barrier; Class 4 Vapour Permeable; AS1530.2 Flammability Index ≤ 5, Thickness ≤ 1.0mm; Air barrier; Non-conductive; Non-reflective; Vapour Permeance to ASTM E96(B) no less than 2.5µg/N.s. Foil type sarkings do not comply with this specification.
DCT VulcanWool is a non-combustible high density mineral rock fibre stonewool insulation for use internally or as an external grade insulation with water shedding characteristics, designed for use in ventilated rainscreen facades and other thermal and acoustic wall, roof, floor and ceiling applications in residential and commercial buildings.
The insulation shall be DCT VulcanWool thickness [… mm] & density [… kg/m3] non-combustible (AS 1530.1) with a low (<1kg/m2) moisture absorption (EN 1609.) DCT VulcanWool Stonewool is manufactured under licence for DCTech.
ProctorPassive SmartVap is a light duty air barrier and variable vapour diffusion vapour and air control membrane.
Vapour and air control layer should be ProctorPassive SmartVap vapour and air retarder membrane, compliant to AS/NZS 4200.1:2017, secured directly to the interior side of the wall or ceiling frame in accordance with the product user guide. AS4200.1:2017 Classifications: Light Wall Duty; Water Barrier; Class 3 Vapour Permeable, AS1530.2 Flammability Index ≤ 5; Thickness ≤ 1.0mm; Air barrier; Non-conductive; Non-reflective.
