ProctorPassive SmartVap must be taped and sealed to form a continuous air and vapour barrier to the interior of the insulation preventing internal moisture vapour from condensing on the masonry at or below dew point temperature. This solution is often used as a compromise where external insulation is not an option. As the DCT va-Q-vip is deemed combustible, this solution can only ever be used in type A or B construction where approved as part of a fire engineered performance solution.

Fire protected mass timber CLT made water and air tight by the self-adhered vapour permeable ProctorPassive Wraptite SA, externally insulated with a non-combustible Vulcanwool stonewool insulation, protected by a brick veneer cladding. The insulation is mechanically fixed with minimal thermal bridging, to form a continuous external insulation layer. As the VulcanWool insulation is deemed non-combustible per AS1530.1, this solution is recommended for type A or B non-combustible wall construction.

Lightweight clad indoor swimming pool timber framed wall, insulated within the frame by a vapour and moisture resistant closed cell DCT XPS insulation and protected by a vapour permeable water tight ProctorWrap sarking fixed to the outside of the frame with a vented and drained cavity formed by a thermal break strip. The ProctorGeo Vap120 air and vapour barrier membrane installed to the inside of the timber frame forms a continuous air and vapour control layer and is best fixed behind a batten to form a service cavity behind the internal linings.
